إن الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تسليط الضوء على الأخطاء الشائعة التي يرتكبها طلاب الجامعة في قواعد اللغة الإنكليزية. \\ \\\ وبما أن الباحث هو رئيس وحدة اللغة الإنكليزية لكلية العلوم الاجتماعية والحقوق في جامعة الكويت، فقد وجد أن الطلاب يشترون في الغالب في نفس الأخطاء في مجال اللغة الإنكليزية. إضافة إلى ذلك، ومن أجل إثبات ما توصل إليه، فقد جمع الباحث سلسلة من الأخطاء المألوفة في أوراق امتحانات سابقة في كليته، وصنفهم على شكل فئات، كما شكل الباحث أيضا نقاط الضعف لدى الطلاب عند الإجابة على أسئلة القواعد. \\ \\\ وتبين أنه ينظر إلى هذه الظاهرة من منظور لغوي ناجم من المقاييس اللغوية واستخدام قواعد اللغة الإنكليزية. وبما أن الأخطاء النحوية تومض براقة في أي نص إنكليزي مكتوب، فقد وجد الباحث أن المعلمين يصححون تلك الأخطاء على أنها أخطاء فردية ويعرفونها على أنها جهل من الطالب بقواعد اللغة دون الأخذ بالحسبان عدم توفر المعرفة السليمة بتلك القواعد. This study is conducted in to -investigate and classify the grammatical common errors, which college- students commit in English grammar. Since he is the Head of the English Unit at the College of Social Science of Kuwait University, the researcher has monitored, that students share almost the same mistakes and errors especially in the field of English grammar. Additionally, for vindicating the findings of this paper, the researcher has synthesized a range of familiar errors out of previous exam papers at his college, and categorized them into groups. \\ The research involves areas of weak points of students when answering the grammar questions. The researcher has found out that this phenomenon is looked upon from linguistic viewpoint, emerging from the language standards, and the appropriate grammatical rules usage, which- in the end- reflects the students' competence in English grammar. Whereas grammatical errors flash brightly in any English writing, the researcher has spotted out that tutors mark these errors individually and identify them as learner's ignorance, without taking into account the availability of the adequate knowledge of the second language rules.
