المستخلص: هدف المقال إلى عرض قصة المعلم (إبراهيم الخطيب) مع مهنة التدريس، وذلك من خلال موضوع بعنوان كاد حلمي ينتهي. وتكون المقال من عدة مراحل مر بها المعلم إبراهيم الخطيب منذ صغره وحتى أصبح معلما، وهي أولا ذكر في المرحلة الابتدائية ضجيج المعلمين، وصراخهم أثناء الطابور الصباحي، وعقابهم لبعض الطلاب المقصرين بأكل أوراق الشجر، أو بفرك القلم بين الأصابع. ثانيا ذكر في المرحلة الإعدادية أن تحولَ كُرهه لحصة الرياضيات للحصة المفضلة لديه، ويرجع الفضل للمعلم الذي أبهره بأسلوبه اللين في التعامل. ثالثا في المرحلة الثانوية تبدل اهتمامه من الدراسة إلى السياسة، فاعتقل بعد شهرين من بداية الدراسة، وسجن لمدة سنة ونصف. رابعا بعد عامين عاد وأكمل دراسته في مدرسة خاصة بتكاليف كانت باهظة على أبيه ليكمل حلمه. خامسا التحق بكلية الآداب قسم اللغة العربية، ولكنه تركها بعد عام، وانتقل لكلية التمويل والإدارة التي قابل بها أساتذة قدموا له المساعدة، وآخرون تكونت لهم صورة سيئة في قلبه، لتربصهم له بدون سبب. سادسا بعد التخرج لم تتوفر فرص عمل بسبب انتفاضة الأقصى، واضطر للعمل في البناء داخل الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة لمدة خمس سنوات. سابعا أقنعته زوجته بالتقدم لوظيفة معلم، وخاصة بعد استحداث مادة الإدارة والاقتصاد في المدارس وتم قبوله. ثامنا بدأ بزيارات متتالية لكل معارفه من المعلمين ليأخذ منهم النصائح، وفي اليوم التالي ذهب للمدرسة. تاسعا وجد المعلم إبراهيم الخطيب أن مهنة التدريس مسئولية اجتماعية وتربوية تجاه الطلاب والأبناء والمجتمع وقد أحبها. عاشرا كان يرى أن راتب المعلم القليل الذي لا يكفي نفقاته إلا لعدة أيام، أدي إلى اتجاه المعلم إلى التعليم الخصوصي، الذي ساهم في تشويه أخلاقيات مهنة التعليم.

The article aimed to present the story of the teacher (Ibrahim Al-Khatib) with the teaching profession, through the subject entitled "My Dream It was almost over". The article formed of several stages passed by the teacher "Ibrahim Khatib" since his youth until he became a teacher, which are, he first mentioned the noise of teachers, and their screaming during the morning queue, and their punishment for some students who fail to eat trees, or rubbing the pen between the fingers. Second, he mentioned in the preparatory stage that his hatred of the mathematics class turned to his favorite class, thanks returned to the teacher who demonstrated him by his soft style in dealing. Thirdly in secondary school, his interest shifted from study to politics. He was arrested two months after the beginning of the study, and he was imprisoned for a year and a half. Fourth, two years later, he returned and completed his studies at a private school at high costs for his father to complete his dream. Fifth, he joined the Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic Language, but left it after a year, and moved to the College of Finance and Management, which met in it professors who helped him, and others have formed a bad image in his heart, to ambush for him by no reason. Sixth, after graduation, there were no jobs due to Al-Aqsa Intifada, and he was forced to work in construction within the occupied Palestinian territories for five years. Seventh, his wife persuaded him to apply for a teaching job, especially after the introduction of the administration and economics in schools and he was accepted. Eighth he began successive visits to all his acquaintances of teachers to take them tips, and the next day he went to school. Ninth, the teacher "Ibrahim Al-Khatib" found that the teaching profession is a social and educational responsibility towards students, children and society, and he loved it. Tenth, he saw that the salary of the teacher is little, which is not sufficient for his expenses only for several days, led to teacher orientation to private education, which contributed to the distortion of the ethics of education.
