Cultural Background of US-Iranian Rapprochement The recent US-Iranian Rapprochement constitutes an attempt towards a realistic approach of international relations. On the one hand, Tehran would guarantee avoiding an economic collapse as well as putting an end to its international isolation. On the other hand, it would save Washington high costs of a military confrontation with Tehran. However, such calculations may not be sufficient without reviving the cultural dimension dating back to over a century, when each party had a good impression of the other. Accordingly, the cultural potentials between the two countries are likely to enhance the chances for future political harmony. To prove the hypothesis, the present analysis reviews the major historical incidents in their cultural relations, in addition to a number of cultural tracks they employ to maintain the minimum of such common interests. The conclusions at the end of the study confirm the above hypothesis
