تعتبر جمهورية كينيا من البلاد التي وصل إليها الإسلام منذ القرن الأول الهجري، ثم قامت فيها عبر التاريخ إمارات إسلامية كإمارة لامو ومالينيدي، وممباسا وغيرها، فأصبحت ضمن الدول الواقعة ضمن الحزام الإسلامي في شرق إفريقيا، مع محاولة الاستعمار الذي وصل إلى البلاد في العصور الأخيرة-إبعادها عن محيطها الإسلامي. \\ ومع أن الكنائس سيطرت -ولا تزال تسيطر على العملية التعليمية في كينيا، إلا أنه ظهر في الآونة الأخيرة مؤسسات تعليمية إسلامية متنوعة جمع بعضها ما بين العلوم العصرية والشرعية بغرض الارتقاء بالكوادر الإسلامية إلى مصاف نظرائهم من المواطنين الكينيين، والمشاركة في بناء وطنهم بشكل حضاري، مع التمسك بالموروث الديني والثقافي. \\ وهذا البحث الموجز يتناول أهم المؤسسات التعليمية الإسلامية في كينيا، من المرحلة الابتدائية حتى الجامعية مع معلومات موجزة عن موقع المؤسسة، وتاريخ نشأتها، ومراحلها، ومكوناتها، وبعض النشاطات التي تقوم بها. \\ وقد قسمت البحث إلى مقدمة، وأربعة مباحث، وخاتمة، وفهرس المصادر والمراجع. \\ أما المقدمة: فذكرت فيها مستخلص البحث، وخلفيات الدراسة، والدراسات السابقة في الموضوع. \\ وأما المباحث الأربعة فيه: \\ - المبحث الأول: نبذة تعريفية عن جمهورية كينيا. \\ - المبحث الثاني: تاريخ دخول الإسلام إلى جمهورية كينيا. \\ - المبحث الثالث: المناطق التي يقطنها المسلمون في كينيا. \\ - المبحث الرابع: أهم المؤسسات التعليمية في كينيا حاليا. \\ - وأما الخاتمة: فذكرت فيها نتائج البحث، والتوصيات المقترحة. \\ - وأما فهرس المصادر والمراجع: فذكرت فيها المصادر التي استندت إليها في البحث.
Kenya is one of the countries that Islam reached during the first century of Hijra. Later on, many Islamic emirates were established along Kenyan coastal line due to continuous immigrations from the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq and Iran to East Africa; such as:to Lamu, Malindi and Mombasa emirates which put Kenya within the Islamic belt in East Africa. \\ When colonialism came to Kenya in 1884 it discovered the domination of Islam among East African peoples, and put new strategy to isolate it from its Islamic environment, and worked effectively to replace Islamic culture with western culture through setting up churches and giving them absolute freedom to preach Christianity among citizens, while such opportunity was not given to any other religion or culture. \\ The churches continued dominating Kenyan educational sector after independence as it did in the colonial period, and many Muslim students were forced to learn Christianity in Christian schools and universities. \\ When Muslim the community felt the need for Muslim integrated educational institutions due to the above-mentioned reasons, they established integrated schools to fill this gap, provide Muslim generations with knowledge and harmonize them with their Kenyan nationals and prepare them to participate in building their country, while preserving their religious and cultural identity. \\ This research displays the main Muslim educational institutions in Kenya from primary to University, with brief information about the institution's' site, history, levels, components and activities. \\ I have divided the research into preface, four topics, conclusion and references. In the preface, I mentioned the abstract, study’s background and previous studies of the topic. While in the four folders, I mentioned a brief general information about Kenya, Islam’s history in Kenya, Muslim provinces in Kenya and the main Muslim educational institutions in Kenya. In conclusion, I summarized the research’s main points along with my suggestions, while I concluded the study with list of my references.
