The fundamental reson , behind my choice of the Imam AL-Baihaqi ś narratives( AL-Sunan AL-Qubra ) . (( The Great Traditions )) in the prohetic biography and the military side as a subject for my thesis , is my love to the prophet Muhammad ś personality and my attempt to reveal the military side in this personality . As well as my interest in this period of Islamic history – the beginning of the Islamic Jihad . This research is divided in to five chapters , the first includes a study of the biography of Imam Abu Bakir Ahmed Bin AL-Hussein AL-Baihaqi ( the personal and scientific ) . He is one of the most famous Islamic Imams who was born in Khisrojerd which is one of the villiges of Baihaq in Niessapore ( 384-408 A.H ) All of his life is devoted for know- -ledge in research , study , classification , writing , and teaching . He is one of the Imams who defends Ahlil sunna . He left a great fortume of writings in different aspects of knowledge ; prophetic tradition ( Hadith ) , jurisprudence ( Fiqeh ) , the provisions of the Quran , doctrine and mysticism . The other chapters include a study in the Imam AL-Baihaqi ś narratives in his book(Al sunan Al qubra) in the military side ( a historical study ) . the second chapter includes the Imam AL-Baihaqi ś narratives in the troops of the prophet and they are divided according to the target which are sent for , for example , the troops which are sent for exploration and observation , the troops which are sent as Islamic missions , those which attack trade convoys , and those which are sent to assassinate . Some of the personalities that imply enemily to the prophet . The third chapter includes AL-Baihaqi ś narratives about prophets defending invasions ; ( Badre invasion , Ahud , Bani – Annathir , that AL-Ruqa , Bani AL-Mustalaq , AL-Ahzab ( the treneh ) , Bani Quraitha , thu Qird and sulhilhudaibia .) The fourth chapter includes his narratives about the prophiets attacking invasions ; ( Khaiber invasion , Mecca conquest , Hunain , AL taef and tabook ) . This chapter includes also prophets messages to the kings and his predictions about war affairs before his death . The fifth chapter includes his narratives in AL-Khu- -lafa AL-Rashideen Age . they are very few compared with that narratives mentioned by AL-Baihaqi in the prophetic Age . I am faced during my study by many difficulties such as the survey the abundance of the nerratives their repetition in different parts of ( AL-sunan AL-Qubra ) , the tracing of those incidents in the historical resources , in addition of the time shortage , the difficult situation in Iraq now and the difficulty of transportation among Iraqi Governorates |
