| 520 | |b This study aims at present the Egyptian writer Mustafa Mahmud and to introduce his rich intellectual world to the Spanish reader and, at the same time, to analyze my own translation of some of his works from Arabic to Spanish. Astonishingly, no works of him have been translated into Spanish language. Therefore, I think it is time to propagate his encyclopedic thoughts and knowledge throughout the Hispanic world. Mustafa Mahmud played an important role in enriching the intellectual life of Egypt and the Arab World. He contributed to the formation of the collective consciousness during nearly half a century. His talent enabled him to reconcile different knowledge streams which the Arab intellectuals thought contradictory for quite a long time because he brought together, homogeneously, Science and Faith; Philosophy and Religion; Politics and Existentialism, etc. \ Therefore, I traced the main themes of the writer and analyzed some of the principal problems which I came across as a translator, translating his book: The Conspiration, following the interpretative theory of translation and Translation Studies. Actually, after the exhausting task of assimilating and translating an OT till creating a TT, a translator is considered an intermediate between the different cultures in order to change the nature of the inter cultural relations “from distinction to reconciliation”. | ||
