المستخلص: يقول ابن جني: اللغة أصوات يعبر بها كل قوم عن أغراضهم"، ومن خلال هذا المفهوم للغة يتبين لنا أنها تمثل أهم الأنظمة التواصلية بين مختلف الشعوب، بها تقضى الحاجات وتتحقق المطالب، وتحل المعضلات، وتتبادل الخبرات.
ولقد تعددت الاتجاهات في تعليم اللغات وتعلمها، وكان من أهمها الآتي: -اتجاه تقليدي لا يحفل إلا باللغة المكتوبة. اتجاه بنيوي سلوكي عني بظاهر اللغة ونظامها التركيبي. -اتجاه تواصلي يعني بتنمية القدرة التواصلية للطلاب من خلال تعلم اللغة في إطارها الاجتماعي والثقافي.
إن اللغة العربية من أهم اللغات السامية الحية، وأشهرها وأوسعها انتشارا، وأشدها تأثيرا في نفوس أصحابها، فهي لغة ذات طابع اشتقاقي، تتولد عنها ألفاظا جديدة، وبدوها تتولد معان جديدة عن كل عملية اشتقاقية، وهو ما يساهم في الثراء اللغوي.
وبالتالي، أصبحت العربية لغة علمية نحتفل بها في سنة بتاريخ 18 ديسمبر، وهو أمر لا يمكن أن تتجاهله الشعوب الأخرى غير الناطقة بها، باعتبار أن العرب أسهموا في بناء صرح الحضارة العالمية، وكانت الأندلس وصقلية العربيتين سبيل الأوروبيين إلى وضع أسس النهضة الأوروبية الحديثة؛ فهي الخامسة من حيث ترتيب لغات العالم بالقياس إلى الناطقين بها من أبنائها، بعد الصينية والإنجليزية والهندية والإسبانية، وهي السابعة- حسب أراء بعض المختصين- بوصفها لغة رسمية بعد الإنجليزية والصينية والهندية والإسبانية والروسية والفرنسية.
وعلى الرغم مما يشاع من صعوبة تعلم العربية، فإنها لغة قياسية على نحو فريد، لا يكاد يمثل نظامها اللغوي صعوبة تذكر في تعليمها وتعلمها بشهادة من درسها وتعلمها من الأجانب، بل تأتي هذه الصعوبة من خارج النظام اللغوي متصلة بالجوانب التاريخية والأسلوبية والاجتماعية.

Ibn Jinni said: “Language is sounds through which every nation expresses their needs or purposes”. Through this understanding of the language it becomes apparent to us, that it represents the most important means of communication between different peoples. Through it, needs are met, demands fulfilled, dilemmas solved, and experiences and knowledge shared.
Many approaches have arisen to teach language and learn it and the following are from the most significant: A traditional approach which is not concerned except with the written form of the language. A structural behavioral approach concerned with the appearance of the language and its system of composition. A communicative approach concerned with the development of the communication ability of the students through teaching the language within the social and cultural frame.
The Arabic language is from the most important Semitic languages; the most well-known of them, the most widespread and which has the greatest impact upon those who speak it. That is because it is language of a derivative nature. New words are generated from it and new meanings are generated from every process of derivation, and this is what contributes to the richness of the language.
In addition, the Arabic language has become an international language which is celebrated annually on the 18th of December. It is a matter that cannot be ignored by other people who do not speak it as Arabic language has contributed in the building of the lofty global civilization. Arab Andalusia and Sicily represented the way for the Europeans to lay the foundations of the modern European renaissance. It is the fifth rank language in the world in terms of the number of its speakers, behind Chinese, English, Hindi and Spanish, and it is ranked seventh, according to some experts, in terms of it being an official language, after English, Chinese, Hindi. Spanish, Russian and French.
Despite what has been spread in relation to the difficulty associated with learning the Arabic language, it is nevertheless a uniquely standard language. Its linguistic system hardly poses any difficulty in respect to teaching and learning it, as established by foreign student testimony. Rather, the difficulty is external to the language system and is linked to historical, stylistic and social aspects.
