المستخلص: The main objective of this study is to measure and analyze the output, labor productivity and multi-factor productivity growth rates in Bahrain manufacturing industries over the time period 1990-2001. Empirical models of output and labor productivity growth were derived as an application of the Growth Accounting Ap¬proach. The growth rate of output was decomposed into factor-intensities (FI) and multi-factor productivity (MFP); there was low contribution of MFP to the growth of output. The annual growth rate of labor productivity showed a declining trend over the study period 1990-2001. The two components that contribute to the growth of labor productivity (LP) were also analyzed. These components were the growth rate of the multi-factor productivity (MFP) and the growth of labor-factor- intensities (LFI). It was shown that MFP has contributed insignificantly to labor productivity growth in Bahrain manufacturing industries. On the other hand, the growth of labor-factor-intensities (LFI) was the main contributor to the growth rate of labor productivity. The study concludes that there is an urgent need to improve MFP in Bahrain manufacturing industries so as to contribute significantly to the output and labor productivity growth rates. Therefore, the study calls for further research to identify the main component that contributes to the growth of MFP and its decomposi¬tions. \
