المستخلص: The main aim of the current study is to investigate whether the critical skills and the communicative approach have promoted the students’ creative thinking skills. The study has two hypotheses to address, HI: Creative thinking is not incorporated in the prescribed syllabus at graduate level, and H2: Paul’s E&S of creative thinking can promote creative writing skills among graduate Arab learners at Taif University. The methods used in this study were both quantitative and qualitative in the cross- sectional study. In quantitative method, a sample of (240) English essays was analyzed. Descriptive data were gathered from (12) teachers in the Foreign Languages department at Taif University. Each teacher was interviewed for (5) minutes to tell about the prescribed syllabus whether it incorporates such material, which can enhance creative thinking in the Arab learners to test HI. Post-test I&II tested whether or not the Arab learners can be taught creative thinking through essay writing skills to test H2. The Paired Sample t-test was applied to test the hypotheses. The first hypothesis was rejected at p ≥ 0.05. It signifies that creative thinking is incorporated in the Syllabus at Bachelor of Arts. The second hypothesis was accepted at p ≤ 0.05 and p ≤ 0.01 level of significance. That is, by incorporating Paul’s E&S of reasoning in teaching English Essay Writing the creative thinking can be enhanced and promoted among the students.
