The objectives of this study are to introduce a general framework for Critical Success Factors (CSFs) affecting quality performance in Jordanian Public Sector Building Projects (JPSBPs)( ) and address the relative importance of such factors. To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, an empirical survey using personally-administered questionnaire has been carried out in the targeted projects. Factor analysis reveals that the appropriate factor groupings for forty four selected CSFs are: communication, competence, top management support, and continuity. The results using stepwise multiple regression analysis (MRA) indicate that three CSFs do significantly positively affect quality performance in JPSBPs, namely, competence, continuity, and top management support. The MRA results also indicate that these three CSFs can be ranked, in descending order, according to their relative importance for quality performance in JPSBPs as follows: continuity, top management support, and competence. The study’s main recommendations are for Jordanian Governmental Buildings Directorate. (JGBD)2 to enhance continuity, make top management support a priority, and develop the competence of different stakeholders in JPSBPs.
