المستخلص: Al-waaw & al-faa’ are two of nine copulative (connective) particles حروف عطفin Arabic. Al-waaw gives complete sense of union between the coupled and the antecedent in rule and parsing, with no arrangements and no succession. Al-faa’, on the other hand, gives meaning of arrangements and succession. Al-waaw has eleven kinds; three of them are active and the rest (eighth) kinds are inactive, whereas al-faa’ has seven kinds. As for English conjunction, we have different types of semantic relations; each has the specification of a way in which what follows is systematically connected to what has gone before. There are four types of conjunctive relation: additive, adversative, causal, and temporal. The next step is analyzing the translation of al-waaw and al-faa’ in Surat al-Thaaryat (as a text) in Palmer and Ali’s. Moreover, making an assessment of this translation is another work in this step. Finally, conclusions are drawn out as a result of the study. It shows that al faa’(s) are more than al-waaw(s), i.e. in Arabic; whereas in English the number of and(s) is more than other conjunctions in this text .(سورة الذاريات)Al-waaw and al-faa’ are translated into and most of the time. That is related to the meaning of al-waaw and al-faa’ as well as and (i.e. connectivity). Moreover, Palmer has limited himself to the Original Text rather than Ali. Ali either does not translate al-waaw and al-faa’, or modifies them by putting other conjunction (not and)
