| 520 | |a يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة الأعراف الرثائية الحديثة في الشعر الحديث ممثلا بمرثية و. ه . اودن ومقارنتها بالأعراف الرثائية في الأدب الكلاسيكي وبيان أن هذه الأعراف الرثائية ليس لها أي علاقة بالأعراف الرثائية للآدب الكلاسيكي حيث كان شكل القافية في القصيدة هو المعيار الذي يستند عليه الناقد بوصف القصيدة على أنها مرثية بصرف النظر عن الموضوع الذي تعرضه. كذلك يهدف البحث إلى مقارنة الأعراف الرثائية الحديثة التي تستخدم في نقد الجوانب السلبية في المجتمع المعاصر بالأعراف الرثائية للقرن السادس عقر وبيان الاختلاف الواضح في المضمون حيث كانت القصيدة الرثائية في تلك الفترة مرتبطة بالحزن باعتبارها وسيلة لتمجيد عظماء المجتمع الإنكليزي آنذاك وبغض النظر عن القافية المستخدمة في كتابتها. |b This paper intends to give sufficient critical justification for the establishment of the modem elegiac conventions. To do so, the genesis as well as the development of the elegy must be traced carefully. In fact, this major literary form has its own roots in classical literature. At that time, an elegy had certain conventions and was written mainly for glorifying a dead individual. Besides, it was not necessarily a lament poem, but also a love poem, a war poem, and the like. Yet, there was a noticeable restriction in its form. Any poem is called an elegy if it is written in the classical elegiac metre. Nevertheless, during the 16th century, a turning point occurred in which the elegy is identified with the poetry of mourning. The poets of this period were free in using the metre, but the subject matter must be a lament, tackled in the light of the selfsame classical conventions. That is why, during this period, the elegy was commonly characterized by touches of sadness. However, during the modem age, modern poets used the elegy but they felt the importance of modifying its conventions to criticize the negative aspects of the modem society. Actually, “In Memory of w. B. Yeats” by W. H. Auden (1907- 1973) offers a telling insight into the modem elegy and its fundamental conventions. | ||
