سعى البحث الحالي إلى معرفة مفهومين حديثين في الأدب النظري التربوي والنفسي والاجتماعي هما التفكير المزدوج والتسامح والتعريف بهما في أطر نظرية دينية واجتماعية ونفسية لتوضيح دورهما في الحياة عامة وفي الحياة الجامعية خاصة وفهم دور كل منهما في تعزيز الآخر، وتضمن البحث فصلا أولا لتحديد أهمية وأهداف ومصطلحات البحث بشكل تفصيلي، وفصلا ثان للأطر والأدب النظري للمفهومين بدءا من التراث الديني في الإسلام والأديان الأخرى لاسيما مفهوم التسامح، ثم نظرة اجتماعية ونفسية وثقافية للمفهومين بعمق نظري، وفصلا أخيرا للاستنتاج عن المشتركات بين المفهومين سلبا وإيجابا، وكيف يمكن ان يعزز أحدهما دور الآخر لدى عامة الناس ثم طلبة الجامعة، اذ أن قاعدة مفهوم التسامح طغت بشكل كبير على تحقيق هذا الدور في التعزيز لعمق المفهوم دينيا واجتماعيا وأصبح من تسلح بالتسامح كسمة وقيمة إنسانيه عظيمة عليا سامية هو من يمتلك مفاتيح التفكير المزدوج بإيجابه وسلبه وقدرة عالية على التعامل والتفاوض والتسلح مع الظروف الصعبة كلها، وعليه تم إيضاح دور المؤسسة الجامعية بمرافقها جميعا في تربية وتعليم وزرع ثقافة التسامح لدي طلبتها وإسهامها العميق في طبيعة التفكير السوي الحر الإيجابي المبدع كتفكير مزدوج يخدم المجتمع في ظروفه التي يعيشها اليوم، وانتهت الباحثة بتوصيات ومقترحات عدة تخدم المجال بشكل واضح وكبير .
