|f The study discusses the phenomenon of increase in the ownership of cars and their impacts on the urban environment in Kuwait, which is considered to be one of the highest rates of car ownership at both the Arab and international levels, reaching 507 cars / 1000 inhabitants and the extent to which the road network keeps up for these large numbers which exceeded 1.55 million cars and the roads- which are 6900 km long are not sufficient for them. The city's population is only 3 million, according to the latest census (2011), living on only 8% of Kuwait's area of about 18,000 km 2, which is the urban area of Kuwait.\nThe relationship between the population of car and road users is complicated and intertwined, which has resulted in many negative effects. This phenomenon has been diagnosed by studying and analyzing each of the four main components: car ownership in Kuwait and the Gulf Countries, cars and population in Kuwait, traffic congestion in Kuwait, and the effects of cars on the environment in the State of Kuwait.\nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc 2018.

|a يتناول البحث ظاهرة زيادة ملكية السيارات وآثارها على البيئة الحضرية بدولة الكويت، التي تعتبر من أعلى المعدلات لملكية السيارات على المستويين: العربي والعالمي؛ حيث بلغت 507 سيارات / 1000 نسمة، ومدى مواكبة شبكة الطرق لهذه الأعداد الكبيرة، التي فاقت 1.55 مليون من السيارات التي تعجز طاقة الشوارع - التي بلغت 6.9 ألف كم طولي – عن استيعابها، في حين بلغ عدد سكان الكويت ثلاثة ملايين فقط وفق آخر تعداد (2011) يعيشون على 8% فقط من مساحة دولة الكويت البالغة نحو 18 ألف كم2، وهي المنطقة الحضرية بدولة الكويت.\nوتتعقد وتتشابك العلاقة بين السكان مستخدمي السيارات والطرق، وهو ما نجم عنه كثير من التأثيرات السلبية، وقد تم تشخيص هذه الظاهرة من خلال دراسة وتحليل كل من العناصر الأربعة الرئيسية، وهي: ملكية السيارات بالكويت ودول الخليج العربية، والسيارات والسكان بدولة الكويت، والازدحام المروري بدولة الكويت، وآثار السيارات علي البيئة بدولة الكويت.
