المستخلص: إذا اتفق أن الإنسان هو علامة وسط علامات أخرى، وأنه يرى نفسه من خلال تلك العلامات، وأنه يقرأ الكون الذي يعيش فيه ويعبر عنه من خلال العلامات أيضا، وأنه يترجم ما يحس به لتبليغه إلى الغير بواسطة أنظمة مختلفة من العلامات يقع في أعلاها النظام اللساني، فإنه حاول، ومنذ وقت بعيد، ورغبة منه في توظيف هذا النظام واستعماله بشكل أنجح وبخاصة في عملياته التواصلية المختلفة، ضبط العلاقة التي تحكم العلامة اللسانية بمدلولها وبالتالي التحكم في آلية توليد المعنى، إلا أن حاجاته الملحة اضطرته أن يستعمل اللغة لابتكار صور مجازية يزين بها عملية تواصله أو إبداعه الفني، وخلق رموز من الأشكال اللغوي لتأثيث طقوسه ونواميسه ومعابده، زيادة على لعبه باللغة وجعلها تكشف وتخفي في الآن ذاته من خلال استعمالها لصنع ألغاز وشفرات، فهل سيسعفه هذا الوضع الجديد في أن يتخاطب مع الآخر وأن يفهمه، وأن يحقق عملية التواصل بقدر كاف من النجاح؟ ومنه يحق لنا ههنا أن نتساءل عن سر العلاقة التي تربط العلامة اللسانية بمدلولها: وهل يوجد مدلول حرفي للعلامات اللسانية؟ أو بعبارة أخرى هل علاقة الكلمة بمدلولها هي رهينة قاعدة مضبوطة ونهائية، أم هي رهينة السياق أو المقام الذي أدرجت فيه، وبالتالي يتعين الانتقال من أنموذج القاموس إلى أنموذج الموسوعة؟

If it is agreed that the human is a sign in the midst of other signs, that he sees himself through those signs, that he reads the universe in which he lives and expresses it through the signs as well, that he translates what he senses to convey it to others via different systems of the signs, at the top of which falls the linguistic system … Then he has attempted, since a very long time ago and out of his desire to employ this system and utilize it in a more successful manner, particularly in respect to its different communication processes … he ahs attempted to control the relationship which governs the linguistic sign by its indicated meaning and consequently gain control over the mechanism of generating the meaning. However, his urgent need compelled him to utilize the language to innovate metaphorical images through which he adorned the communication process or his artistic creativity. He created symbols from linguistic forms to furnish his rituals, practices and temples. That is in addition to his playing with the language and making it reveal and conceal at the same time through his usage of the making of puzzles and codes. So, will this new situation assist him to make him to communicate with the other and understand him and fulfil the communication process with a sufficient level of success? It is our right to ask here about the secret of the relationship which connects the linguistic sign with its indicated meaning? And is there a literal or exact meaning for the linguistic signs? Or said in other words, is the relationship of the word with its indicated meaning, hostage to a fixed and final rule or is it hostage to the context or the place in which it was incorporated into? And consequently, is the move from the dictionary model to the model of the encyclopedia then warranted? This abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018
