المستخلص: بالاعتماد على التراث العلمي ومن خلال تحليل بعض الدراسات العلمية حول موضوع كشف الكذب ومن أجل الوصول إلى المعلومات والحقائق العلمية التي يمكن العمل بها، وعزلها عن المعلومات غير العلمية التي يذهب ضحيتها الكثير في مجالات مختلفة. وعليه حددنا في هذا البحث –من خلال الإجابة على التساؤل الأساسي التالي: هل توجد علامات لفظية أو غير لفظية ترتبط بالكذب؟- أولاً تحديد مفهوم الكذب وكذالك مفهوم علامات الكذب وبعدها تحدثنا عن العلاقة الموجودة بين سلوك الكذب وعلاماته من خلال التطرق إلى لمحة تاريخية عن ممارسات كشف الكذب، ثم أساسيات أو مبادئ كشف الكذب، وبعدها تناولنا الاختلافات الفردية لعلامات الكذب، وكذلك وسائل وتقنيات اكتشاف الكذب، بالإضافة إلى معرفة من هم الموهوبون في كشف الكذب، وفي الأخير لخصنا كل ما سبق في خلاصة عامة.

We undertook this study by depending upon scientific heritage and through analyzing some of the scientific studies about the subject area of lying detection. That was in order to arrive at scientific information and truths which are possible to work with whilst isolating that from the non-scientific information which has many victims in various fields … In light of this we have specified in this research (through answering the following fundamental question: Are there verbal or non-verbal signs associated with lying?), firstly, the definition of the concept of lying as well as the concept of signs of lying. After that, we discussed the existing relationship between the conduct of lying and its signs by addressing a historical overview regarding the practices of lying detection, followed by exploring the fundamentals and principles associated with lie detection. After that, we dealt with the individual differences for the signs of lying and the means and techniques for detecting the lie, in addition to attaining awareness about those who are gifted in detecting lies, whilst at the end we summarized all that had preceded in a general manner.
