520 |b The first purpose of the study was to design some multiple intelligences-based activities to investigate the effect of using Multiple Intelligences (MI) on developing some of the preparatory students’ English speaking skills. The second purpose was to investigate the relationship between the participants’ speaking skills and their multiple intelligences profiles. This study adopted a quasi- experimental design in order to investigate two groups: an experimental group using Multiple Intelligences-informed activities and a control group using the prescribed course activities over one semester. The two groups of forty preparatory students - at Al Sayda Khadega Prep school in Maadi- were equally divided into a control and an experimental group: The experimental group received the multiple intelligences-based activities that focused on speaking while the control group studied their prescribed English course. The study found that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the post speaking tests in favour of those of the experimental group. There was no statistically significant difference between the Multiple Intelligences rank order of the pre and post Multiple Intelligences Survey (MIS) of the experimental group. Implications and recommendations as well as suggestions for further studies were provided.
