|b Learners of English as a foreign language benefit from exposure to English as it is spoken in everyday life by native speakers. The present study explored the positive aspects of combining visual and auditory modes to present authentic samples of contextualized language and culture through movies. However, it was assumed that watching movies alone is not adequate as it leads the learners to prioritize meaning and neglect focus on form either to achieve accuracy or precision in oral interaction. Oral interaction is an interactive process of two way communication, during which learner's background knowledge play an important role. Schema theory lays theoretical foundation for this explanation. Based on this, the present study aimed at investigating the effect of a proposed schema theory based teaching strategy in developing EFL oral interaction skills, which is a framework of pre-watching, during-watching and post-watching activities. The sample of the study consisted of Sixty English majors, Faculty of Education, Helwan University. An oral interaction test was applied before and after the experiment. The results of the study showed that there is a significant effect of the proposed strategy in developing the oral interaction skills of EFL majors.
