كان الغرض من هذا البحث التعرف على تأثير توقيت عرض الصوت القارئ للنص في الكتاب الالكتروني على تحصيل المعلومات لدى طلاب المرحلة الإعدادية، وقد دعمت المشكلة ببعض الدراسات السابقة التي اختلفت في نتائجها ؛ من حيث تأثير توقيت عرض الصوت مع النص في الكتاب الالكتروني على تحصيل المعلومات التي يتضمنها الكتاب، وقد لاحظ الباحث أن الكتاب الالكتروني من أهم خصائصه النص التفاعلي الذي يتيح للمستخدم سهولة التصفح والتفاعل، وأن الصوت القارئ للنص وسيلة إضافية، وقد يستخدم الصوت القارئ في نفس توقيت عرض النص أو بعد عرض النص، وهذا كما أشارت إليه الدراسات السابقة. وقام الباحث بتصميم كتاب الإلكتروني من خلال برنامج Flip Album الإصدار السادس، وهو برنامج مخصص لتصميم الكتاب الالكتروني، يتضمن العديد من الأدوات التي تتيح للمصمم تحميل نصوص وتنسيقها وتقسيمها وفهرستها وإضافة رسومات وصور وصوت، وتم تصميم وإعداد أدوات الدراسة وتضمنت: سيناريو لتصميم للكتاب المقترح، واختيار معلومات، واستبانه لتحديد معايير تصميم الكتاب، وطبقت الدراسة على عينة من طلاب الصف الأول الإعدادي بمحافظة الدقهلية في وحدة الطاقة لمادة العلوم. وتوصلت النتائج إلى أن فعالية الكتاب الالكتروني الذي يتضمن النص والصوت تزداد في الحالة التي يتم من خلالها عرض النص يليه الصوت؛ مقارنة بالحالة التي تعتمد على عرض النص والصوت في توقيت واحد، وفسرت هذه النتيجة في ضوء فروض بعض نظريات التعلم والإدراك التي أشارت إلى أن تزامن عرض المثيرات قد يؤدي إلى تشويش لدى المتعلم، خاصة إذا قدمت هذه المثيرات بالتفصيل وليست اختصارات، وان المثيرات يفضل تقديمها بنظام التتالي حسب نظرية ( الأن كوفمان لمعالجة المعلومات). وتوصلت الدراسة إلي عدة توصيات هامة في هذا الصدد منها: الاهتمام بالمثيرات السمعية للكتاب الإلكتروني من حيث توقيت عرضها، والاعتماد على التتالي في عرض النص والصوت القارئ له. \
