هدفت الدراسة استجلاء دوافع استخدام طلاب الجامعة للإنترنت وقد تم جمع البيانات عبر صحيفة الاستبانة التي وزعت على عينة البحث التي شملت (200) طالباً من أصل (6000) طالب بمجمعات مدينة سنار، تم تحليل البيانات بواسطة الحاسوب باستخدام برنامج (spss)، ومن ثم حساب التكرار والنسبة المئوية واختبار "مربع كاى"، وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى أن غالبية أفراد العينة يستخدمون الإنترنت للأغراض الثقافية، كما توصلت إلى أن أغلبية العينة الدراسية لهم حساب في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ولهم اشتراك في منتديات الإنترنت مما يؤكد الدافع الاجتماعي والترفيهي للاستخدام لأن هذا المواقف اجتماعية ترفيهية. أما فيما يتعلق بالاستخدام السلبى للإنترنت فقد أكدت نسبة معتبرة أقل من نصف العينة أنهم على علم بأناس يرتادون المواقع الإباحية الجنسية، يوصى الباحث بضرورة توجيه الطلاب للاستخدام الإيجابي للإنترنت من خلال مقررات دراسية تمكنهم من كيفية الحصول على مكاسب الإنترنت.
This research paper entitled: The using motives of Internet by University students, applied study on Uses and gratification. It aims at investigating motives of using the Internet by the students, the data collected through a questionnaire distributed to the research sample of (200) students at Sinnar University (sinnar town campuses). Data analyzed and calculated by using computer program (SPSS) and using frequency, percentage and Chi- square Test. The study displayed that the majority of research sample use the Internet in cultural purposes, the study also explained that the majority research sample has account on social e- sites and subscription on the e-forums sites this referred to the social and entertaining motives using. By other way the majority research sample informed that they obtained important information in their life through using the Internet, also they proved their recognition of academic e-sites from their friends, this emphasize that they deal with these sites and circulate among them, and others assured they gained e-books from Internet and some of research sample informed they used Internet for purposes concern their academic specializations, also the majority of the research sample assured that they consider the Internet as a comprehensive library for science and knowledge. The study referred that the majority of the research sample use the e-mail for exchanging information among the students. As to the negative use of the Internet there is a considerable number of the research sample which less than half assured that they know some youth who get into the sexual pornographic e-sites. The research recommended to foster the students to the positive use of the Internet through academic courses which enable them how to get the profits from Internet, also the researcher recommended to draw people's awareness so as to assure the importance of dealing with the negative using of Internet in appropriate manner, cooperatively with the youth associations to establish and strengthen the positive use of Internet.
