تناول هذا البحث موضوع التقويم التربوي البديل ودوره الإيجابي في قياس تحصيل الطلاب وتقويم أدائهم في مراحل التعليم المختلفة وهو من الموضوعات المهمة في عصر شهد فيه التقويم التربوي تطورات وتحولات كبيرة في مناهج القياس والتقويم وفي أساليبه وأدواته وممارساته مما انعكس ذلك إيجابا على العملية التعليمية، ولهذه البحث أهمية خاصة تتمثل في أنه يسلط الضوء على التقويم البديل باعتباره نمط جديد تم طرحه حديثا لإيجاد معالجات وحلول لمشكلات التقويم التقليدي الذي ثبت قصوره في قياس تحصيل الطلاب وتقويم أدائهم. ومن أهداف هذا البحث توضيح الدور الإيجابي للتقويم البديل مع التعرف عليه من حيث مفهومه، أهدافه، أسسه، أدواته، خصائصه، وظائفه، واستراتيجياته، ليستخدم في قياس تحصيل الطلاب وتقويم أدائهم بديلا للتقويم التقليدي، اتبع الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في معالجة المحتوى المعرفي للبحث. وخلص البحث إلى نتائج عديدة منها: أن التقويم البديل يوفر للطلاب والمعلمين التغذية الراجعة والفرص التي تمكنهم من مراجعة أدائهم وأعمالهم، كما أنه يزود المعلمين بمعلومات دقيقة حول فهم المتعلم كيفية تطبيقه للمعرفة التي اكتسبها خلال عملية التعلم بالإضافة إلى تقديمه بيانات ومعلومات مهمة عن أداء المتعلمين تؤثر إيجاباً في عملية التعليم وتطوير المناهج وأوصى الباحث بضرورة إقناع المعلمين باستخدام التقويم البديل مع تدريبهم على أدواته وأساليبه ليوظف بفاعلية في قياس تحصيل الطلاب وتقويم أدائهم. كما أوصى كذلك بضرورة الاستفادة من البيانات والمعلومات المهمة التي يقدمها التقويم البديل في تقويم المناهج التعليمية وتطويرها مع العمل الجاد على نشر ثقافته بين الأوساط التربوية.
The paper investigated the topic of Alternative Educational Evaluation and the positive role that it plays in measuring students' acquired knowledge and assessing their performance in all levels of education. The topic is important for a period that witnesses great changes and transformations in the field of evaluation and assessment and their related methods, tools and practices that consequently affect the educational process positively. The paper tried to shed light on Alternative Evaluation as a new paradigm that has been introduced currently to find solutions to traditional evaluation shortcomings in student evaluation and assessment. This paper, therefore, attempted to identify the positive role of the alternative approach and to introduce its concepts, objectives, principles, characteristics, functions and strategies in replacement of the former traditional method used in student evaluation and assessment. Data was collected by a descriptive analytical research method. Findings revealed many results some of which are: the alternative method guarantees feedback for both students and teachers that can be used in checking their performance. The method also provides important information about learners' performance that positively affects the teaching process and curricula development. Eventually, a number of recommendations were made to persuade teachers to apply the alternative method in measuring their students’ acquired knowledge and assessing performance after training them on this alternative approach. The paper also recommended the application of this alternative educational evaluation for the valuable information it offers for curricula evaluation and reform, and that efforts should be exerted to disseminate the culture of this method in the contexts of education.
