|a لم تكتب رواية "الرجل الضاحك" لمتعة القارئ فحسب، فالقضايا التي تتناولها تدعو إلى التأمل العميق في معنى الحياة والشعور بتجذر الشر في الكون. فمن خلال وصف الأماكن في هذه الرواية، فإن الكاتب هوجو يدل على أن الإنسان يعيش في عالم رهيب، مخيف، يعذب فيه إلى ما لا نهاية. وقد أوضح الكاتب أن الإنسان يتخلص من هذا العذاب في السماء فقط، أي لا راحة على الأرض. إن رواية "الرجل الضاحك" تتميز بتداخل الأساطير مع الأفكار والصور البلاغية. ومن ثم فإن خيال الكاتب يخلق علاقة بين المكان والإنسان، وهو ما يتولد عنه فكرة شاملة عن مفهوم الشر في الكون. ففي رواية "الرجل الضاحك"، وصفت الأماكن على أنها تجسيد للشر. من خلال الوصف، تتجسد فكرة الشر عن طريق تكرار على أنها تجسيد للشر. من خلال الوصف، تتجسد فكرة الشر عن طريق تكرار بعض الصور والأنماط. وتتميز هذه الرواية أيضا بوجود شبكة تجمع كل الأفكار عن طريق الصور المتكررة مما أسفر عن أساطير جديدة ابتدعها خيال الكاتب.

|b dis research aims to throw light on teh goddess Wepsct and her role in teh ancient Egyptian religion. dis is by tracing her name, iconography, origin and her presence in teh Egyptian mythology. Teh researcher followed teh presence of dis goddess in teh different ancient mythologies, namely, teh Eye of Re and teh Distant One. Than teh researches passes by teh role of Wepset in teh books of teh afterlife, particularly, teh Imy-Dwat, teh Book of Caverns, and teh Book of Earth and in teh different manuscripts concerned wif teh idea of punishing teh evil ones, especially Apophis. Teh name of teh goddess comes from teh verb wps which means to bum. dis is convenient to her role as a burning and fire-spitting goddess. Teh main task for teh Distant Goddess is to defend her father, Re, against all enemies. dis defense is reflected in teh destruction by fire / flame teh enemies in general (sbyw, xftyw, XAkw-ibw), or more particularly Apophis. In teh New Kingdom guides to teh afterlife, Wepset prepares teh way for teh resurrection of Re-Osiris by destroying his enemies. Wepset and her partner Nesret appear on teh books of teh afterlife and burning all enemies of Re and Osiris.
