المستخلص: صياغة الشخصيات هي جزء لا يتجزأ من تشكيل النص الأدبي والفني، ويتم استخدام هذه الشخصيات وسيلة لتحقيق أهداف المؤلف الأدبية والفنية. وقد أبدع الروائي الطيب صالح عديدا من الشخصيات من البشر والحيوان والطبيعة التي تنبض بنبضات الحياة والحركة وأعطى لكلّ منها دورا تلعب به أثناء مجرى أحداث رواياته وقصصه. ومن أبرز ملامح الطيب صالح الأدبية أن عددا كبيرا من هذه الشخصيات تظهر أمام القراء في مختلف قصصه ورواياته حسب مقتضى المكان والزمان. وهذه الشخصيات ومركزيتهم والتطورات التي خضعت لها فهي كلها ترمز إلى تغييرات التي حدثت في المجتمع السوداني خاصة بعد الخمسينات من القرن العشرين. ومن البارز وقد خلق الطيب صالح شخصيات أنثوية عديدة في أعماله الروائية والقصصية اللاتي تلعب دورا بارزا في سيل أحداث إبداعاته الأدبية. وقد قدّم الطيب صالح هذه الشخصيات الأنثوية مع نظرته الخاصة التي تنظر إلى تطوّر أحوال النساء في المجتمع السوداني المقيد بالتقاليد والعرف والنظم التي غالبا تسدّ الطريق أمام حركة النساء ونهضتها في الأسرة والمجتمع

Formulations of characters is an inseparable part of the literal and art text formation. These characters are used as a means to accomplish the objectives of the literary and art writer. The novelist At-Tayeb Saleh created a number of characters, from humans, animals and nature, which pulsed with the pulses of life and movement, and he provided to each of them a role to play during the unfolding of the events of his novels and stories.
From among the most prominent features of At-Tayeb Saleh’s literary work was that a great number of these characters appear before the readers in his different stories and novels according to the dictates of the time and place.
These characters; their centralities and developments which they submit to, are all symbolic of the changes which took place within the Sudanese society and especially following the 50’s of the last century.
It stands out that Saleh created many female characters in his novels and stories which play a prominent role in the flow of events, reflecting his literary creativity. At-Tayeb Saleh presented these female characters along with his special view which looks to the development of the circumstances of women within the Sudanese society, which is restricted by traditions, custom and systems, which in most cases block the path before the women’s movement and their revival, within the family and society.
