هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع البحث في مجال مناهج وطرق التدريس الدراسات الاجتماعية في الجامعة الإسلامية ولتحقيق هذا الهدف قام الباحث بإعداد بطاقة تحليل المحتوى لرسائل الماجستير في مجال مناهج وطرق تدريس الدراسات الاجتماعية وقد تضمنت مجموعة من المتغيرات تمثلت في مجال البحث وجنس الباحث وأساليب التحليل الإحصائي ومنهج البحث المستخدم وأنواع العينات وأدوات الدراسة والمرحلة التعليمية وبلغ عدد رسائل الماجستير التي تم تحليلها 15 رسالة وتم تطبيق بطاقة تحليل المحتوى على هذه الرسائل وقام الباحث بتطبيق البطاقة مرتين الأولى قام بها نفسه والثانية قام بها باحث آخر وتم حساب معامل الثبات بين التطبيقين وبلغ معامل الثبات 91.0% أما الصدق فقد تم توزيع البطاقة على مجموعة من المتخصصين في مجال المناهج وطرق التدريس وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى: أن الجغرافيا تحتل المكانة الأولى في مجالات مناهج الدراسات الاجتماعية وأظهرت الدراسة أن منهج البحث الوصفي هو الأكثر انتشارا أيضا الدراسة إلى انتشار استخدام الإحصاء الوصفي وأن العينة العشوائية هي الأكثر انتشارا وانتشار البحوث في المرحلة الأساسية العليا أما بخصوص جنس الباحثين فقد أظهرت الدراسة تفوق الذكور على الإناث أما أدوات البحث فقد كانت أكثر أدوات البحث انتشارا هي الاختبار. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من المقترحات لتحسين البحث في مجال الدراسات الاجتماعية تمثلت في ضرورة تعزيز النقاط الإيجابية والتي يكون فيها توازن وتنوع والتقليل من النواحي السلبية التي تكاد تكون قليلة، وأوصت الدراسة بإجراء العديد من الدراسات والبحوث وتحليل المتغيرات بشيء من الدقة مثل أنواع العينات والمراحل التعليمية وأدوات الاختبار والتحليل الإحصائي.

The study found a set of proposals to improve research in the field of social studies was the need to strengthen the positive points and where the balance and diversity and minimize the negative aspects that are almost few, and recommended that the study conducted numerous studies. research and analysis variables of precision such as the types, of samples and levels of education and tools testing and statistical analysis.
