The overall objective of this paper is to investigate the factors influencing students’ achievement in their specializations in the faculties of educations in Libya. A number of 120 instructors from the faculty of education at AL. Marj participated in this study. A questionnaire of 25 items was given to the participants. The questionnaire contained three parts. Part 1 dealt with university environment. Part 2 was devoted to problems encountered by instructors and part 3 was for problems facing students. The study found that, as highly indicated by the participants, there are problems facing the university environment, instructors and students. More than (95%) of the participants gave positive responses in part 1 supporting the admission criteria, (75%) believe that good programs should be offered to students. Generally speaking all items received positive responses over (75%). These obstacles can influence students’ achievement in their specializations and can be a hindrance to meet the expectations of graduates of faculties education in Libya. Improving university environment and solving obstacles encountered by both instructors and students are strongly recommended.
