أصبحت الرواية إلى جانب وظائفها التخيلية و التمثيلية و الإيحائية أداة بحث، بها يمكن استكشاف العالم و التاريخ، و الإنسان، فلم تعد نصا خاملا يحتاج إلى تنشيط دائم، بل انطوت على قدرة خاصة حينما وضعت نفسها في خضم التوتر الثقافي العام، فأصبحت هي موضوعا لنفسها. لذلك أحاول في هذا البحث الخوض في هذا الجانب، و بخاصة ما له صلة بالممارسة التي يلجأ إليها الروائي و هو يصوغ إيديولوجيته و رؤيته لعالمه و تاريخه، و تطلعاته و رغباته، صوغا رمزيا بواسطة السرد، لأبين كيف أن السرد له القدرة على التورط الجريء في أشد القضايا إثارة. وحساسية و كل ذلك يتم على خلفية من البراءة الخادعة التي توهمنا أن الموضوع هو مجرد "رواية".
