المستخلص: The idea of gender differences has been studied in many pedagogical and psychological specialities, and significant findings have been arrived at. Yet, few studies, to the knowledge of the researcher, have given due attention to gender differences in translation, let alone translation training. Due to the variety of text types that a trainee translator can handle, the expressive text type, which is defined in the light of the preset criteria below, has been chosen to be the starting point for the investigation of the perceived differences, if any. Thus, the present study is just a step in what might seem the right direction in the study of gender differences in translation. It is limited, however, to the expressive text type.
