Despite political marginalization, African youth have always played an important role in all major political events that have in the continent. With the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the dismantling of the communist bloc, the process of democratic transition began to take hold in the African continent. This is what the American theorist Samuel Huntington called "the third wave of Democratization." Youth is a most important social class that played a leading role in the process of democratization in Africa, and the last five years have witnessed the emergence of a new form of youth organizations that militate in favor of social justice, good governance and peaceful political alternation. They have flexible organizational structures and a big capacity for popular mobilization. In many African countries, these youth movements have achieved important political and social results. This study focuses on the role of youth movements in the process of democratic transition in the case of Senegal and Burkina Faso
