المستخلص: The objective of the current research is to study the relationship between math anxiety and achievement among secondary school students and to study the gender differences in the anxiety of this subject. In this study, we have adopted the measure of the math anxiety by the preparation of verifying its validity and stability, after adapting it to the Algerian environment by the researcher to fit the requirements of this study. It was applied to a sample of 200 male and female students of the first and second year of secondary school. We also relied on the results of the quarterly tests (first and second semester) in mathematics and students average marks in this subject from the academic year 2013-2014, to reveal the calculated relationship. The study results have shown that there is a correlation between the two variables, that is, math anxiety and achievement. The results of the study also revealed that there are no significant gender differences concerning math anxiety.

هدف البحث الحالي إلى دراسة العلاقة بين قلق الرياضيات و التحصيل فيها لدى تلاميذ المرحلة الثانوية، ودراسة الفروق بين الجنسين في القلق من هذه المادة، ولقد اعتمدنا في هذه الدراسة على مقياس قلق الرياضيات من إعداد متحقق من صدقه وثباته، وذلك بعد تكييفه على البيئة الجزائرية من طرف الباحثة ليتلاءم مع متطلبات هذه الدراسة ،حيث طبق على عينة قوامها (200) تلميذ و تلميذة من السنة الأولى والثانية ثانوي، كما اعتمدنا على نتائج الاختبارات الفصلية (الفصل الأول والفصل الثاني) في مادة الرياضيات ومعدلات التلاميذ في هذه المادة من العام الدراسي 2013-2014، للكشف عن العلاقة المدروسة. ولقد أسفرت النتائج عن وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين المتغيرين، أي قلق الرياضيات والتحصيل فيها، كما كشفت نتائج الدراسة عن عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الجنسين في قلق الرياضيات.

Le but de cette étude récente, est de reconnaitre la relation qui est entre l'anxiété mathématique et l'achèvement scolaire dans cette matière chez les élèves du lycée, et de savoir s'il existe des différences significatives statistiquement au niveau de l’anxiété mathématique selon le sexe (garçons et filles).Comme utiles du travail on a utilisé l’échelle de l’anxiété mathématique de Chada Bassam Nadim Abd El Hadi (2013) et cela après avoir refait ses méthodes statistique, adapté selon le corpus étudié. Pour atteindre l’objectif de cette étude et arriver au résultat final, un échantillon composé de 200 élèves de 1er et 2eme année, et on a basé sur les moyennes des mathématiques chez ces élèves (1er et 2eme ) semestre de l'année scolaire 2013/2014.
Après l’analyse statistique des données on a obtenu les résultats suivants:
Il existe une relation significative entre l’anxiété mathématique et l'achèvement scolaire dans cette matière.
Il n’existe pas des différences significatives statistiquement au niveau l’anxiété mathématique selon le sexe (garçons et filles).
