تعتمد كفاءة الأفراد في العمل على الحالة الصحية والنفسية، كما أن سعادتنا تعتمد بدرجة كبيرة على البيئة المصممة التي تحيط بنا، ويشمل ذلك فضلا عن المساكن وأماكن العمل ودور التعليم والمعابد، أماكن اللعب والمتعة والأثاث وغيرها من أدوات الخدمة والمعيشة والعمل. ويهدف البحث إلي: 1-تصميم نموذج لوحدة تعليمية للأطفال المصابين بالتوحد من سن السادسة إلى الثانية عشر، تتحقق من خلاله -المعايير والأسس التصميمية المناسبة لهذه الفئة. 2-تحقيق إشباع احتياجات الطفل والمساعدة على تنمية جوانب النمو المختلقة والتقليل من المشكلات السلوكية الموجودة بسبب المباني التعليمية الحالية. ٣-تحقيق التوازن بين الضوابط التصميمية وجوانب تنمية بيئة الطفل من خلال دراسة العناصر المعمارية والعمرانية والأهداف العالمية، وإعادة صياغتها بما يتوافق مع خطة وسياسة الدولة، ويلائم فكر وثقافة وشخصية الطفل العربي المسلم بهدف تنميته وتطويره وضمان مواكبته للتقدم والعولمة. وتوصل البحث إلي: 1- وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين التصميمات الخمس في الناحية الوظيفية وفقا لآراء المحكمين. ٢- وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين التصميمات الخمس في الناحية الجمالية وفقا لآراء المحكمين. 3- وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين التصميمات الخمس في الناحية الابتكارية وفقا لآراء المحكمين. ٤- وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين التصميمات الخمس وفقا لآراء المحكمين. وأوصي البحث بــ: 1- إدراج وتدريس التصاميم المعمارية للوحدات السكنية والبيئات التعليمية في مقررات قسم السكن وإدارة المنزل عامة، أو إضافتها مقررات جامعية تندرج تحت قسم التصميم الهندسي المعماري والتصميم الداخلي. 2- الاستفادة من كل ما هو جديد من برامج الكمبيوتر كوسيلة تصميمية للدور التعليمية الخاصة بأطفال التوحد، وأيضا توظيف التصاميم الذكية الحاسوبية بما يلائم مع احتياجاتهم، لتيسير عملية تعليم ودمج التوحديين بالمجتمع الخارجي. 3- أهمية نشر ثقافة اضطرابات التوحد في المجتمع، مما يخدم إمكانية التشخيص المبكر وطرق التعامل معهم، وإتاحة الفرصة لمن يبدون تحسنا ملحوظا في قدراتهم، العمل ضمن وظائف تتناسب مع إمكانياتهم في دور التوحد، مع ضرورة إدراج مسميات وظيفية تلائمهم وتدريبهم وتأهيلهم لسوق العمل. 4- الاستفادة من البحوث التصميمية المقدمة من طلبة البكالوريوس والدراسات العليا في إمداد مكاتب الهندسة والاستشارات الهندسية بالتصاميم المقترحة للتدعيم وإخراجها على أرض الواقع.
