الحديث عن الأسس المعرفية للشعرية يفضي إلى تتبع مواطن التباين النظري بين البادئة، وما يتلوها من تحول في التوجهات الحداثية، التي ساقت المنظرين إلى عد المرتكزات المعرفية، والتاريخية للشعرية ضرورة أساسية تستند إلى جوانب ما ورائية، ومن ثمة يبرز دور التوجهات، المنتمية إلى الحقول الفرعية المحددة لخصائص الخطاب الشعري، من خلال مقولات تبحث في ثنائيات عديدة، من بينها: ثنائية الموضوعية والذاتية، ثنائية الوصف والتفسير.
