يهدف هذا البحث إلى بيان أهمية معرفة أسباب ورود الحديث، وأنها لا تقل أهمية عن معرفة أسباب نزول الآيات؛ وذلك من خلال تطبيق ذلك على بعض الأحاديث الواردة في التعامل مع غير المسلمين؛ التي يدل ظاهرها على أن الأصل في التعامل مع غير المسلمين هو القتال، وأنه لا يجوز ابتداء غير المسلمين بالسلام مطلقا، كما لا تجوز الإقامة في بلاد غير المسلمين مطلقا؛ ليتبين لنا أثر معرفة سبب ورود الحديث في توضيح المقصود بهذه الأحاديث، وأن الأصل في دين الإسلام في التعامل مع غير المسلمين هو السلام والبر والقسط من السلام طيهم، ورذ التحية لهم، ومجادلتهم بالتي هي أحسن، وأما الحرب والغلظة والجفاء فهي استثناء لكل ظالم حاقد معتد على الإسلام وأهله؛ جزاء وفاقا لظلمه وعدوانه، كما أن المنع من الإقامة بين أظهرهم محمول على حال الخوف من فتنتهم، وقد جاء هذا البحث في مقدمة وتمهيد وثلاثة مباحث، وخاتمة وفهرس للمصادر والمراجع، وقد اشتملت المقدمة على أهمية البحث، وخطته ،ومنهجه، كما اشتمل التمهيد على تعريف سبب ورود الحديث، وبيان أقسام الحديث من حيث سبب الورود، وأهمية طم أسباب ورود الحديث، والمؤلفات في ذلك. وقد درست في المبحث الأول حديث أمرت أن أقاتل الناس حتى يقولوا لا إله إلى الله، أما المبحث الثاني فقد اشتمل على دراسة حديث أنا برئ من كل مسلم يقيم بين أظهر المشركين، وفي المبحث الثالث تمت دراسة حديث لا تبدؤوا اليهود والنصارى بالسلام، وفي خاتمة هذا البحث بينت فيها أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها.
The purpose of this research is to clarify the importance of knowing the reasons behind the Hadeeth (prophetic sayings), and that it is no less important than knowing the reasons and circumstances of revelation of the verses of the Quran. This is shown by applying this concept to some of the prophetic sayings said in the context of dealing with non-Muslims. Some of these sayngs seem to show that the norm in regard to dealing with non-Muslims is fighting, that it is not permissible to start greeting non-Muslims first, and that it is not permissible at all to stay in a non-Muslim country. However, once we know the reason behind each Hadeeth it becomes clear to us what is really meant by these prophetic sayings, and that the norm in the religion of Islam in dealing with non-Muslims is peace, righteousness and justice, including greeting them, greeting them back, and discussing with them in the best way. War, harshness and roughness are only an exception against oppressors who commit transgression against Islam and Muslims as an appropriate punishment to their injustice and transgression. On the other hand, the reason why it is not permissible to stay in a non-Muslim country is the threat to be tempted or deviated. This research includes an introduction, a preface, three objects of research, a conclusion and a list of resources and references. The introduction highlights the importance of the research and sets out a research plan and the methodology. The preface sheds light on the definition of the reason behind the Hadeeth, clarifies the different sections of the Hadeeth in terms of the reason behind the prophetic sayings, brings forward the importance of the science that studies the reasons behind the prophetic sayings, and goes through the literature written on the subject. In the first object of research I studied the following Hadeeth:”I was commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah”. In the second object of research I studied another Hedeeth: “I have nothing to do with any Muslim who settles among the disbelievers”. In the third object of research I studied the Hadeeth: "Don't start saying greetings to Jews and Christians". Finally, I concluded the research with the most important results and findings
