|f The current study focused on monitoring the ethics of exercising the right to criticize within the media discourse for a sample of the protest movement's websites on the Internet in order to identify its positions on the issues raised in the discourse and the media frameworks and strategies used, within the framework of the theories of discourse analysis and media frameworks. (90) Communication material of three protest movements during 6/15/2013 -12/15/2013 was analyzed in light of the increase in the sites of the protest movements and the emergence of their role in the growth of the popular protest, with a view to determining the degree of commitment or deviation of the media discourse of these sites from the ethical rules regulating the right to criticism under the media honor codes, and the need to develop these codes in a way that suits the media environment in which alternative media works. \nWe can review the most important findings of the study as follows: \n- The objective input on which the discourse of the three protest movements under study relied varied. The narrative input was the most used, then the one that relied on highlighting the contradiction. \nPolitical issues formed the largest area in which the protest movements' media discourse was concerned, with a marked difference from other issues. This is because the study period witnessed many important political events, followed by security and then economic issues. \n- The framework of the revolution dominated the media frameworks used within the media discourse of the protest movements, even if the indications for employing this framework differed between the three movements according to the political orientation of each movements' objectives and reasons for their establishment, and in the second place came the ethical and humanitarian framework, then the framework of peaceful protests. \nThe use of strategies focused mostly on the strategy of attack and criticism that was employed, with a noticeable relative difference from the rest of the strategies used; As a result, attack and criticism were the most prominent in the discourse in light of dealing with different issues, and so each political orientation attacks and criticizes the other to show the weakness of its position. Thereafter strategy of explanation and interpretation was employed, then the strategy of violence threat. \n- The media discourse of the protest movements often went beyond the ethics and ethos of the profession, as there were many forms of deviating from the ethics of criticism within the discourse. It is centered on the lack of documentation of information and imbalance in the first order. Incitement and intimidation, then stabbing the identity, then insulting, and finally not taking into account morals and public ethics. \n- The media discourse of the protest movements used emotional and logical methods in order to convince the public by the speech, and describing events and scenes was the most used emotional method, and citing information was the most logical method. \nThe media discourse sources varied between official and unofficial sources and media sources, and the unofficial sources dominated these sources. \n- The general public dominated the active forces associated with critical discourse within the media discourse, then the revolution's youth, then the Muslim Brotherhood. \n- The study found that there are statistically significant differences between the websites of the protest movements with regard to each of the issues raised within the media discourse, the media frameworks, the active forces, and the media strategies used within the discourse, and thus the first, second, third and fifth hypotheses proved correct. \nThe fourth hypothesis is partially proven regarding the existence of statistically significant differences from the protest movements' websites concerning forms of deviations from the ethics of criticism. The sixth hypothesis has also been partially proven correct about the existence of a significant correlation between the issues raised in the media discourse of the protest movements and the forms of deviations from the ethics of criticism. \nWe conclude from this that failure to adhere to the rules of the profession and the principles of professionalism in media work leads to a weak discourse and an absence of scientific vision in dealing with its topics, and makes the speech not prove specific values and ideas, and it may suffer from contradictions in its theses and contents. \nThese results confirm that the Egyptian public is in need of in-depth knowledge and conscious understanding that enables it to form a cognitive building and form objective opinions, especially with the low level of moral commitment of the protest movements in criticizing various issues, whether political, security, economic or other, as well as with the contradiction in the media discourse between Protest movements according to the orientation of each movement and the goals they seek to achieve. \nThese results also confirm the need for a media honor code to be committed by all media, whether traditional or modern, which is what professional media seek, with a clear definition of the mechanisms for adherence to the principles of this charter to prevent some media discourses from seeking to create a state of intellectual flatness by deliberately focusing on the propaganda aspect related to its orientation, and diverting the attention and interest of the public from its public issues to matters that serve specific intellectual and political interests. \nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2021
