هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على الواقع الحالي للمكتبات المدرسية وتشخيص احتياجاتها وسبل تطويرها في محافظة حضرموت/المكلا، والتعرف على الصعوبات التي تعترض أمين المكتبة والطالب، حيث اتبع الباحث المنهج الوصفي للإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة ويتكون مجتمع الدراسة من مكتبات مدارس مديرية المكلا الابتدائية والثانوية 2016 – 2017م، وقد بلغت عينة الدراسة (10) مدارس وعدد (10) أمناء مكتبة، وعدد الطلاب (100) طالب وطالبة، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة قام الباحث بإعداد استبانة لمعرفة المشكلات والصعوبات التي تعترض أمناء المكتبة والطلاب في محافظة حضرموت/ المكلا، واشتملت الاستبانة على (15) فقرة لأمناء المكتبة (15) فقرة للطلاب. ومن أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها الدراسة: إن أكثر المشكلات والصعوبات التي تعترض أمين المكتبة والتي جاءت بالمرتبة الأولى (عدم وجود سياسة مكتوبة تهدف إلى تنمية المقتنيات بالمكتبة المدرسية)، أما الصعوبة التي جاءت بالمرتبة الثانية فهي (عدم المحافظة على حداثة المعلومات والأجهزة عن طريق الحصول على المواد الجديدة بصفة مستمرة واستبعاد المواد الغير مستخدمة). كما أظهرت النتائج أن أكثر الصعوبات التي تعترض الطلبة في استخدام المكتبة وبدرجات كبيرة هي (عدم وجود الوقت الكافي للطلبة لزيارة المكتبة) إضافة إلى (صعوبة المناهج الدراسية وكثافتها).
The study aimed to identify The reality of school libraries and identify their needs and ways of developing them in Hadramout / Mukalla governorate, And to identify the difficulties faced by the librarian and the student, where the researcher followed the descriptive method to answer the questions of the study and the study community consists of the libraries of the schools of the Directorate of Mukalla primary and secondary 2016 2017, The sample of the study (10) schools and the number of librarians (10) librarians, and the number of students (100) students, To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire to Knowledge of problems and difficulties faced by librarians and students in Hadramout / Mukalla Governorate, The questionnaire included (15) paragraph for the librarians and (15) for the students. The main findings of the study: The most important problems and difficulties facing the librarian, which came first (the absence of written policy aimed at developing holdings in the school library), The second difficulty is (not to maintain the modernity of information and devices by obtaining new materials on a continuous basis and excluding unused materials). The results showed that the most difficult difficulties faced by students in using the library in large amounts are (lack of time for students to visit the library) in addition to (the difficulty and intensity of the curriculum).
