The main purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using scientific activities as a context for teaching English to develop English vocabulary of the first class primary pupils. To examine this research purpose, two research statistical hypotheses were set regarding primary pupils accepting some related English vocabulary .The study adopted the experimental research method –two equivalent groups design – to examine the study hypotheses .The research sample of this study consisted of 60 pupils ; they were chosen randomly from among primary school –pupils Al-Nasiriyah City . The research sample was divided into two groups ;one of them (30 pupils) represented the experimental group and the other (30 pupils ) represented the control group . One achievement test was developed and controlled (regarding validity and reliability) to be used as a main research tool in this study. However ,the study results revealed that the prepared scientific activities had an impact on the first class primary pupils’ English vocabulary . According to these results ,the study presented and proposed several recommendations and suggestions that can help in developing other educational aspects for pupils in the primary stage. |
