المستخلص: Amin Malouf, the man of East and West, embodies the status of writer mediator and cultural passer in most of his writings. Of Arab-Christian origin, he grants from the dawn of his literary career a capital importance to his emigrant status, taking into account the identity issue and the quest for origins. As a result, the reconfiguration of identities and the different relations that he may have had during his reterritorialization in France, unfold widely in his "bridging literature". Man invokes, so to speak, always in his novels the eternal East-West dialogue. Something that we will discover during this research work that takes as object of study one of the works maaloufienne namely: Léon l'Africain, published in 1986 by the editions Jean Claude Lattès. Having seen through the text in question the bridge established between the two banks, we are here to discover these civilizations and cultures that litter this first Maaloufian novel.

Amin Malouf, l’homme d’Orient et d’Occident, incarne le statut d’écrivain médiateur et passeur culturel dans la majorité de ses écrits. D’origine arabo chrétienne, il accorde dès l’aube de sa carrière littéraire une importance capitale à sa condition d’émigré, prenant en compte l’enjeu identitaire et la quête des origines. De ce fait, la reconfiguration identitaire et les différentes relations qu’il a pu avoir lors de sa reterritorialisation en France, se déploient largement dans sa « littérature de passerelles ». L’homme invoque pour ainsi dire toujours dans ses romans le dialogue éternel orient-occident. Chose que nous serons amenés à déceler au fil du présent travail de recherche qui prend comme objet d’étude l’une des oeuvres maaloufienne à savoir : Léon l’Africain, parue en 1986 aux éditions Jean Claude Lattès. Ayant pu constater à travers le texte en question le pont établi entre le deux rives, nous voici partis à la découverte de ces civilisations et des cultures qui jonchent ce premier roman maaloufien.
