|a إن مفهوم المدينة على ما يبدو واضح لدى كل واحد منا فالمدينة محاطة بتعريف بسيط ودقيق، كما أن الواقع المكاني والاجتماعي لهذه الظاهرة يمكن أن يختلف في الزمان والمكان. لكن بعض العوامل يمكن أن تعطينا فكرة عن المدينة: كعدد السكان، والطبيعة والأنشطة السائدة. فالفلاسفة، علماء الاقتصاد، الديموغرافيين، المهندسين، وبطبيعة الحال علماء الاجتماع، كلهم ينضرون إلى المدينة بنضرة موحدة. فهذا المقال يهدف إلى توضيح مفهوم المدينة ومختلف تعاريف البلدية. ويهدف هذا المستند أيضاً إلى تسليط الضوء على المشاكل التي تعاني منها المدينة والبيئة الحضرية و وكذا دور البلدية في تطوير المدينة.
