لا تختلف المجتمعات في مسألة الزواج بالذات وضرورته، وإنما يكمن الاختلاف في كيفية اختيار الشريك والأسباب التي تدفع إلى نوع معين من الاختيار، فالاختيار للزواج هو أهم خطوة في حياة الإنسان، فهو أمر يعني الرجل والمرأة معا. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على طريقة اختيار شريك الحياة لدى الطالبة الجامعية، وما مدى تأثير متغير دخل الأسرة، والكلية، ومكان النشأة، وتعليم الوالدين على أسلوب اختيارهاـ وقد طبقت هذه الدراسة على مجموعة من طالبات جامعة الملك عبد العزيز غير المتزوجات، حيث بلغت حجم العينة (300) طالبة غير متزوجة. أما المنهج الذي استخدم في الدراسة هو المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة العمدية، وكانت الاستبانة هي أداة جمع البيانات. ومن خلال تحليل بيانات الدراسة الميدانية وجد أن مؤشر الاختيار للزواج للطالبة الجامعية يتجه من الأسلوب الوالدي إلى أسلوب التعارف الشخصي، وتوصي الدراسة بتقديم محاضرات وندوات للأسر لتوعية أبنائها معنى الاختيار للزواج السليم المبني على القيم الدينية والأخلاقية والاجتماعية.
Humans, regardless of origin, religion, orientation, race or creed, unanimously agree that marriage is a cornerstone in the life cycle of evolution. However, choosing a partner and the reasons behind choosing varies among societies and communities. In fact, the process of choosing and choosing a partner is a matter that concerns both of the male and the female. In this study, we aimed to determine how a female with university education chooses her partner, the family variable in such step, the college, origin and the parents vision as to their daughter's endeavor to choose her partner. A sample of 300 single female students were subjected to this study, and the researcher utilized the vertical social survey as a methodology using a questionnaire as a tool for gathering of such information and data needed. By analyzing the resultant data derived from the questionnaires, it was clear that the family gatherings and interaction with other families is the source of 'introduction’, e.g., the parents of either the male or the female manages to 'name' the future husband or wife. Recommendations: The study recommends launching of forums and symposiums for the families that emphasis on religious, ethical and social values in relation to choosing the right partner for their sons/daughters.
