|b This paper will tackle the Italian contributions in developing the Egyptian Higher education. Many of Egypt's rulers of Mohamed Ali family depended on Italy to develop and improve certain aspects of the higher education in Egypt. Academic missions were sent to Italy since the reign of Mohamed Ali. Italy had its role in shaping the first university in Egypt in 1908. Italian contributions were obvious in the Egyptian University laboratories. Italian Orientalist professors were employed in Cairo University and affected the cultural background of the Egyptian students. Italian effects on Egyptian education led to Italian Impacts on the Egyptian life. Taha Hussein was example for these exchanged impacts. The Italian political and military decisions spoiled the Italian cultural efforts in Egypt. Intended plan to add separate Italian institutions in Egypt was destroyed as result of Italian invasion of Lybia. This paper will follow the line of Italian contributions and the Egyptians’ perception for these contributions.
