المستخلص: The current study aimed at observing the real democratic values and practices of Cairo University students (sample of the study). These practices have been identified through the educational process, as well as through events and activities within the university. They reflect the culture and values of democracy, especially in the areas of freedom of expression, justice, equality, responsibility and participation. To achieve this objective, the researcher relied on the social survey approach, applied intentionally to a sample of Cairo University students from four applied and theoretical faculties (Science, Engineering, Arts, Economics and Political Science).The sample, which was actually analyzed, consisted of (458) respondents. Accordingly, the study relied on the quantitative statistical analysis, the calculation of averages, and the Ka 2 test to investigate the significance of differences between averages and the standard deviation. The study began from a theoretical perspective based on Giddens' views on "structure formation" and Bourdieu's notion "Habitos", in an attempt to understand the way in which students create their practices so that they appear in reality. The university structure is thus shaped by the free and widespread practice of students, characterized by continuous dynamism and transformation, and embraces the greatest number of practices that reflect the values of democracy. Students' practices, perceptions, and responses are also molded by what " Bourdieu " called "Habitos", which serves as a bridge between the university structure and the individual practice of active students. The study showed an average positive attitude of the participants towards the role of the university in providing its students with democratic values. Therefore, the structure or the university in this case does not provide the framework to support democratic practices, or provide it in a restricted manner through the imposed constraints consisting in the provisions of the regulation as well as the organizational, administrative and physical aspects that prevent the conduct of the university activities and practices as desired. The study also showed the presence of the values of freedom, justice, equality, and responsibility in university practices in a good manner, but they need to be further strengthened, supported and pushed to reach a better level of practice. However, the value of participation in university practices reflected an acceptable but low level compared to the manifestations of freedom, justice and responsibility. Reading the results of the participation value also reflects an apparent contradiction between perception and practice of the students. It is clear that the student list and the administrative and organizational regulations of the university are among the main obstacles that prevent students from practicing and participating in events and scientific, cultural, social and political activities within the university. This leads us to point out the need to develop mechanisms to address this problem for a university that provides students with a positive atmosphere for participation.

استهدفت الدراسة الحالية رصد القيم والممارسات الديمقراطية الفعلية لدى طلاب جامعة القاهرة (عينة الدراسة) تلك الممارسات التي تم التعرف عليها من خلال العملية التعليمية، وكذلك من خلال الفعاليات والأنشطة الممارسة داخل المحيط الجامعي. تلك التي تعكس ثقافة وقيم الديمقراطية خاصة في مجالات حرية التعبير عن الرأي، والعدالة والمساواة، والمسئولية، والمشاركة. ولتحقيق هذا الهدف اعتمدت الباحثة على منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة، حيث تم سحب عينة من طلاب جامعة القاهرة وبالتحديد من أربع كليات عملية ونظرية هي (العلوم – الهندسة – الآداب – الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية) وذلك بطريقة عمدية، ووصل قوام العينة التي تم تحليها فعليا إلى (458) مفردة، وبناء عليه اعتمدت الدراسة على أسلوب التحليل الكمي الإحصائي، وأيضا في ضوء حساب المتوسطات، واختبار كا2 لاختبار دلالة الفروق بين المتوسطات، والانحراف المعياري. وقد انطلقت الدراسة من توجه نظري يعتمد على رؤى "جيدنز" حول "تشكيل البنية"، ومقولة "بورديو" "الهابيتوس"، وذلك في محاولة لفهم الطريقة التي ينتج بها الطلاب ممارساتهم بحيث تظهر إلى حيز الواقع فتتشكل البنية الجامعية من خلال الممارسة الحرة الرحبة للطلاب، وتتسم بالدينامية والتحول المستمرين، وتستوعب أكبر قدر من الممارسات التي تعكس قيم الديمقراطية، كما تتشكل ممارسات الطلاب وتصوراتهم وطرق استجاباتهم من خلال ما أطلق عليه "بورديو" "الهابيتوس" والذي يعد بمثابة الوسيط بين البنية الجامعية والممارسة الفردية للطلاب الفاعلين. وقد أظهرت الدراسة وجود اتجاه إيجابي متوسط من قبل المشاركين نحو الدور الذي تلعبه الجامعة في تزويد طلابها بقيم الديمقراطية. ومن ثم فإن البنية أو الجامعة في هذه الحالة لا توفر الإطار الداعم للقيام بالممارسات الديمقراطية، أو توفره بشكل مقيد من خلال ما تفرضه من كوابح وقيود متمثلة في نصوص اللائحة بالإضافة إلى الجوانب التنظيمية والإدارية والمادية التي تحول دون القيام بالأنشطة والممارسات الجامعية بالشكل المرجو. كما بينت الدراسة أيضا حضور قيم الحرية، والعدالة والمساواة، والمسئولية في الممارسات الجامعية بشكل جيد، ولكنها بحاجة إلى مزيد من التدعيم والتعزيز والدفع للوصول إلى مستوى أفضل للممارسة. بينما تجلت قيمة المشاركة في الممارسات الجامعية لتعكس مستوى مقبول ولكنه منخفض مقارنة بتجليات الحرية والعدالة والمسئولية، كما تعكس قراءة النتائج الخاصة بقيمة المشاركة حدوث تناقض ظاهري بين التصور والممارسة من قبل الطلاب. فمن الجلي أن اللائحة الطلابية والقيود الإدارية والتنظيمية الجامعية تعد من أبرز المعوقات التي تحول دون ممارسة الطلاب ومشاركتهم للفعاليات والأنشطة العملية والثقافية والاجتماعية والسياسية داخل البيئة الجامعية. مما يدعونا للإشارة إلى ضرورة وضع آليات لمواجهة هذه المشكلة وذلك من أجل بيئة جامعية توفر للطلاب مناخ إيجابي للمشاركة.
