المستخلص: Humanity communities suffer from worsening manifestations of intolerance and violence stemming from class struggle and social waves; the latest imbalance in the system of values and fundamentals governing the relationship with the other and living with so much so remove him intellectually, politically, religiously, and rule mentality of prohibition and criminalization, so the world today needs an effective and positive coexistence and tolerance more than ever; hence the concept of tolerance had a great attention by philosophers and thinkers on the basis that it works on the cohesion of societies and balance, as well as being helpful The widespread understanding and collaboration between community members, so they can sustain life and achieve their goals and objectives. The concept of tolerance is one of the contemporary humanity concepts, which accompanied the great transformations in the world now and the winds of globalization had moved to our Arabic countries, so we should root it in Arabic region suitably and give it an opportunity to reflect on the reality and respond to its needs and problems, this will be achieved only through educational institutions, including universities, which bears the responsibility for providing programs and curricula promote the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among graduates who in turn Live models to move these values across successive generations, from Al Azhar University is the most important These universities if not the most important because it mandated posting moderation and renewal of religious discourse, beyond its impact within the region Egypt Arabic at home and perhaps to many parts of the world as well as its role in community service and leadership role in carrying the banner of religious knowledge and call Allah gently and Lynn. Problem of the study: Egyptian society is suffering today from all kinds of conflict (intellectual, cultural and stratification) at all levels, leading to further social disintegration and a culture of hate and bickering among members of society, then the spread of chaos and violence, injustice and restrict freedoms, which shows that Egyptian society is suffering a real crisis in the absence of a culture of tolerance; and then there was an urgent need to find a positive value system, finding a psychic combination based on tolerance, for this to happen we must work to promote a culture of compassionate community, This is confirmed by many previous studies, prompting educators and behavior to emphasize the values and cultures which call for unity, renounced the band and especially the culture of tolerance through various educational institutions especially universities and the most important of these universities "Al-Azhar University", hence the importance of this study to address this topic from an educational standpoint because of its necessity in this historic conflict-filled recently and incidents of violence, revolutions, and the other for standing on the proposed role of Al-Azhar University in disseminating a culture of tolerance. Study questions The current study attempted to answer the question:

1. what are the intellectual and philosophical origins of the culture of tolerance? 2. what role can be played by Al-Azhar University in disseminating a culture of tolerance? 3. To what extent respondents views differ about the degree of importance of the proposed roles of Al-Azhar University in disseminating a culture of tolerance according to variables (type, specialty, degree, and location of PhD). 4. What is proposed perception for the development of the role of Al-Azhar University in disseminating a culture of tolerance? Objectives of the study: The current study aimed to identify the expected role of Al-Azhar University in disseminating a culture of tolerance through the following objectives:- - Analyzing what tolerance is, its philosophy, its aims and its principles. - Determine the reasons for interest in the culture of tolerance in our modern world. - Identify the aspects of the role of Al-Azhar University in disseminating a culture of tolerance (management, faculty, curriculum and activities). - Designing a proposed perception for the development of the role of Al-Azhar University in the dissemination of a culture of tolerance in the light of the outcome of the field study. Methodology of the study and its methods: The study used the descriptive analytical method to reach its goals, and adopted the questionnaire as a tool for information gathering, where a sample strength (400) as a member of the faculty at Al-Azhar University, for their view on how important the resolution from the proposed roles for the University that can contribute to a culture of tolerance. The most important results of the study: 1. the study in its entirety to the great importance of all proposed roles through four hubs, with approval of the proposed roles in the overall resolution 92, 09. 2. the results of the study indicated that the response of the sample on the first axis of the importance role of University Administration (leadership) in a culture of tolerance in agreeing very much, with the relative weights of those phrases (1-16) between (4, 2575) and (4, 7975), the average response of respondents on the axis as a whole (4, 58). 3. the results of the study indicated that the response of the sample on the importance of the second pillar as a faculty member in a culture of tolerance in agreeing very much, with the relative weights of those phrases (17-33) between (4, 4375) and (4, 7475), the average response of respondents on the axis as a whole (4,626). 4. the results of the study indicated that the response of the sample on the importance of the third axis on the role of curriculum and syllabus in culture of tolerance in agreeing very much, with the relative weights of those phrases (34-45) between (4, 49, 4, 6775), the average response of respondents on the axis as a whole (4,579). 5. the results of the study indicated that the response of the sample on the importance of the fourth axis on the role of student activities in the dissemination of a culture of tolerance in agreeing very much, with the relative weights of those phrases (46-62) between (4, 46, 4, 7125), the average response of respondents on the axis as a whole (4,624). Recommendations of the study: The study found proposed visualization included a series of roles that Al- Azhar University to contribute to the dissemination of a culture of tolerance, with reference to some mechanisms by which to activate those roles.
