المستخلص: هذا الموضوع منذ زمن بعيد صار محل الدراسة والنقاش بين الباحثين والدارسين في العالم الإسلامي وخارجه، يبحث بين آونة وأخري بصورة تختلف عن الأخرى، وفي هذا الملخص يمكننا أن نقول. 1-الرق والترقيق والتعبيد ليس من إبداع إسلامي ولم يشجعه أبدا، لأن الإسلام نفسه إنما جاء من أجل تحرير الأنسان من عبودية الأنسان، وجعله عبدا لخالق الأنسان. 2-العبودية والرق له تاريخ طويل يتقدم الإسلام بآلاف سنين، الحكماء والسلطات استخدموه لتحقيق مقاصدهم السياسية والاقتصادية وغيرهما. 3-التجار والسلطات العالمية من القوميات المتنوعة والأديان المختلفة كانوا وراء هذا التعبيد والترقيق، بغية الحفاظ على أموالهم وبقاء سلطتهم. 4-هناك أسباب كثيرة تقف وراء استمرار التعبيد والترقيق منها الفقر والحالة الاجتماعية والسياسية والعسكرية وغيرها. 5-جاء الإسلام والواقع السائد ملئي بالتعبيد، وفي يده الحل الأمثل ألا وهو تحرير العبيد من العبودية، ولهذا الغرض عرض حلولا وطرقا شتي، منها هذا الأمر الحي الدائم المستمر الذي نادي كل العالم في استفهام إنكاري متضمن للأمر النهائي قائلا: (فلا اقتحم العقبة وما أدراك ما العقبة فك رقبة). 6-كثيرا ما جعل الإسلام ذريعة من قبل الأنسان نفسه لتعبيد الناس وترقيقهم، خصوصا من قبل الأغنياء والحكماء وذوي السلطان، والقوي السياسية لضرب الإسلام ومبادئه. في حين أن الإسلام لم يأمر في نص من النصوص الشرعية بالتعبيد والترقيق، بل نهي عنه، ولم يبق في بيت النبوة رقيق ولا عبد إلا وقد حرر.
