المستخلص: Partant du principe qu’il n’y a pas de personne qui ne gesticule, que l’acte pédagogique est un acte où s’entrecroisent et s’entremêlent plusieurs éléments, que le corps de l’enseignant est un outil pédagogique, tout comme sa voix, le présent article tente de mettre en exergue l’effet, l'apport et l’impact du geste sur les pratiques enseignantes en classe de FLE. Comme une véritable métaphore de pensée et un moyen fortement expressif aidant à informer, à animer et à évaluer, le langage corporel s'impose comme un véritable outil didactique. Indiscutablement, il favorise la motivation de l'apprenant, facilite la compréhension et la pénétration du sens et aide à l'appropriation de vocabulaire. Le but est donc de montrer les effets du geste sur la compréhension et la découverte du sens, de le considérer comme un signe, voire comme un fait communicatif qui favorise l’expression et prend une place décisive dans le schéma de la communication pédagogique.

Starting from the principle that there is no person who does not gesture, that the teaching act is an act in which several elements intermingle and intertwine, that the body of the teacher is an educational tool, just like his voice, this article attempts to highlight the effect, the contribution and the impact of the gesture on teaching practices in French as a foreign language. As a true metaphor of thought and a highly expressive way of informing, animating and evaluating, body language is a true didactic tool. Indisputably, it promotes the motivation of the learner, facilitates understanding and penetration of meaning and helps in the appropriation of vocabulary. The goal is therefore to show the effects of the gesture on the understanding and the discovery of the meaning, to consider it as a sign, or even as a communicative fact that promotes the expression and takes a decisive place in the diagram of the educational communication.
