المستخلص: هدف البحث الحالي إلى تقصي فاعلية استراتيجية سوم (Swom) في تدريس الدراسات الاجتماعية لتنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد واتخاذ القرار لدى تلاميذ المرحلة الإعدادية وقد تكونت عينة البحث من (70) تلميذة من تلاميذ الصف الثاني الإعدادي تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين، مجموعة تجريبية تكونت من (35) تلميذة درست باستخدام استراتيجية سوم (Swom)، ومجموعة ضابطة تكونت من (35) تلميذة درست بالطريقة المعتادة، وقد تم استخدام منهج البحث شبه التجريبي لتحقيق أهداف البحث، وإعداد مواده وأدواته التي تمثلت في: كتيب التلميذ المعد وفقا لاستراتيجية سوم، ودليل المعلم، واختبار مهارات التفكير الناقد، واختبار مهارات اتخاذ القرار. وقد أوضحت نتائج البحث وجود فرق دال إحصائيا عند مستوى (0.05) بين متوسطي درجات تلميذات المجموعة التجريبية التي درست الوحدة المختارة باستخدام استراتيجية سوم (Swom)، ودرجات تلميذات المجموعة الضابطة التي درست الوحدة نفسها بالطريقة المعتادة في التطبيق البعدي الاختبار التفكير الناقد ككل وفي كل مهارة من مهاراته لصالح ت

The aim of the current research is to investigate the effectiveness of the Swom strategy in teaching social studies to develop critical thinking skills and decision-making among middle school pupils. The sample of the research consisted of (70) second-grade pupils who were divided into two groups, an experimental group consisting of (35) A female student studied using the Swom strategy, and a control group consisted of (35) female students who studied in the usual way. The quasi-experimental research method was used to achieve the goals of the research, and to prepare its materials and tools which were represented in: The student booklet prepared according to the SOM strategy, and the teacher's guide, And test critical thinking skills, and test decision-making skills. The results of the research showed that there is a statistically significant difference at the level (0,05) between the mean scores of the experimental group pupils who studied the selected unit using the Swom strategy, and the degrees of the pupils of the control group that studied the same unit in the usual way in the post-application testing critical thinking as a whole and in Each of his skills is in favor of experimental group pupils, and there is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group pupils who studied the selected unit using the Swom strategy, and the grades of the control group pupils who studied the same unit in the usual way in post application To test decision-making skills as a whole and in each of his skills for the benefit of experimental group students, the research ended with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: reformulating and organizing some units of history curricula in the preparatory stage according to the strategy of Swom, training social studies teachers in middle schools on how to Teaching using the Swom strategy.
