|b The current study aimed to show the extent of the effectiveness of linear programmed instruction strategy to improve the linguistic performance of grammar rules for students of first secondary grade. The study sample consisted of (65) students from the first secondary grade of Sadat secondary school, spread over two groups, experimental group studied in a linear programmed instruction, and was (33) students and control group studied in the traditional way and was (34) students. the researcher has prepared, programmed grammatical unit and test to measure the linguistic performance. findings of the study refer to existence of statistically significant differences between the average degrees of the two groups, experimental and control groups, in the post linguistic performance test application, in favor of the experimental group. This means that the program is characterized by an appropriate degree of effectiveness in improving linguistic performance of grammar rules of students.
