The Mediating Effect of Political Skill on the Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Career Success: An Applied Study on Commercial Banks in Egypt

This study examined the effect of emotional intelligence (EI) on career success and political skill. Also, the mediation role of political skill on the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and career success applied to the employees in commercial banks in Egypt. Data collected based on a survey that distributed to 300 employees, and the researcher relied on the structural equation modeling (SEM) to test hypotheses. The results showed a positive effect of emotional intelligence on political skill and career success. Political skill dimensions except for interpersonal influence and apparent sincerity play a mediation role in the relationship between (EI) and career success dimensions. |
