520 |b The present study aimed at investigating the effect of using learner - centered learning activities on developing EFL writing skills and reducing writing apprehension for 3rd year prep Al Azhar institute students . A group of 60 third year Al Azhar prep institute students were randomly selected. They were divided into two groups; (30) students for the experimental group and (30) students for the control group. After being sure that they were equivalent, students in the experimental group received instruction through the suggested learner-centered activities; while students in the control group received regular instruction. A pre/post writing test and apprehension scale were developed to measure the effect of the suggested activities on developing writing skills and reducing apprehension. The results showed that the experimental group students' writing skills were developed and their apprehension was reduced due to the use of the suggested activities. It was concluded that the suggested learner-centered activities had a large effect on developing writing skills and reducing 3rd year prep Al Azhar institute students' apprehension from writing in English.
