|b This research aims to identify, under the methodological authority of the semiology of the image, the presence of the labyrinth figure in the paratext of some novels by Patrick Modiano. The choice and the examination of the links that the paratext of the novels of this author establishes with the labyrinthine figure is justified by the fact that this subject never attracted the attention in the works dedicated to the French writer, crowned by the Nobel prize in literature of 2014. As we will see in this work, the paratext of Modiano's novelistic work relies heavily on the shape of the labyrinth or its symbols that emerge in a very obvious way in the illustrations, notes that precede the actual novelistic texts as well as in the back cover of some modern works.

|d Cette recherche se propose de cerner, sous l’autorité méthodologique de la sémiologie de l'image, la présence de la figure du labyrinthe dans le paratexte de quelques romans de Patrick Modiano. Le choix et l'examen des liens que le paratexte des romans de cet auteur établit avec la figure labyrinthique se justifient par le fait que ce sujet n’a jamais attiré l'attention dans les travaux consacrés à l’écrivain français, couronné du prix de Nobel de littérature en 2014. Comme nous le verrons au cours de ce travail, le paratexte de l’oeuvre romanesque de Modiano se fonde beaucoup sur la forme du labyrinthe ou ses symboles qui surgissent d'une façon très évidente dans les illustrations, les notes qui précèdent les textes romanesques proprement dits ainsi que dans la quatrième de couverture de certaines oeuvres modianinnes.
