المستخلص: المشكلة الرئيس في هذه الدراسة تكمن في كيفية التوصل إلى المعاني المقصودة الناشئة من كل وظيفة تؤديها الأدوات (من) و(ما)، وكذلك تهدف الدراسة إلى تحديد المشكلات التي تواجه المترجمين خلال قيامهم بالترجمة بغية فهم وظائف هذه الأدوات كما ينبغي. ولتحقيق أهداف هذه الدراسة واثبات فرضياتها تمت دراسة بعض وظائف هذه الأدوات (من) و(ما) بشكل مناسب ثم تم اختيار تسع جمل تحتوي على هذه الأدوات وتمت ترجمتها أثبتت نتائج واستنتاجات هذه الدراسة صلاحية فرضيات الدراسة وأهمها عدم انتباه المترجمين إلى الوظائف المتعددة لهذه الأدوات.

The main problem of the present study lies in the ways one must follow to understand the various meanings resulting from each function of these two Arabic particles (من) 'Men' and(ما) 'Maa', aiming at finding out the most difficulties that translators may encounter through the process of translation to realize such functions properly. To achieve the aims of this study and verify its hypotheses, most functions of these particles have been studied thoroughly, then (9) texts containing these particles have been chosen to be translated into English The findings and conclusions have verified the validity of the hypotheses of the study, the main of which is unawareness of most of translators to the multi-functions of such particles.
