To achieve this aim, a quasi-experimental design was used. The participants of the research consisted of 80 fifth year primary governmental language school pupils from El - Shorouk Governmental Language School, Helwan, Egypt. A listening comprehension skills checklist and a pre-post listening comprehension test were prepared by the researchers. Results signified that the experimental group outperformed the control group in the post administration of the listening comprehension test due to the use of the digital storytelling approach in their teaching. They also showed that the digital storytelling approach was effective in developing the required listening comprehension skills for primary governmental language school pupils as it had a large effect of (0.90) on developing them.
